Presiding Member and Deputy Presiding Member roles are sought for the Audit Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC) in a local government setting.
About The Position
* Risk management and internal controls accountability is essential for this role.
* Reviewing external and internal audits will be a key responsibility.
* Audit recommendations and implementation of audit findings must be prioritized.
* Financial management reporting and accountability are crucial aspects of the job.
* Compliance with laws, regulations, standards, and governance is required.
The ARIC meets quarterly at an administration centre. Each meeting lasts approximately two hours.
Role Requirements
* Appointments will be for a term of 2 years.
* Independent external members must attend meetings in person.
* Candidates should possess an analytical mind with a collaborative approach to improve the council.
Preferred Skills And Experience
* Public sector management experience is highly valued.
* Strategic and operational risk management system and procedures knowledge is essential.
* Financial management including budgeting, systems, and procedures expertise is necessary.
* Local government business controls understanding is a key requirement.
* Information technology systems including business transformations knowledge is beneficial.
