ABOUT THE ROLE
* Fixed Term Full Time until August 2026
* Band 4 annual salary: $74,203 including industry allowance + 12% super and maintenance allowance

If you're looking for your next opportunity or want to learn new skills, we currently have fixed-term position in a supportive team focussed on preventative maintenance. Make a positive contribution to the South Gippsland community by assisting in the delivery of Council's periodic maintenance program, specifically footpaths, kerb and channel, bridges and culverts and, assist with the supervision of contractors and labour hire resources performing the maintenance works.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assist Supervisor to oversee daily activities of concreting contractors.
* Conduct regular site inspections.
* Address any issues or discrepancies promptly and effectively.
* Assist the Supervisor with planning and scheduling work.
* Lead maintenance works, assembling ad hoc teams.
* Perform hands on and manual handling maintenance tasks.
* Operate plant, machinery, tools and equipment as required.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful you will have:
* Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent.
* Demonstrated experience in concrete construction, finishing and form setting.
* Plant operating experience.
* Proven ability to plan work for others, make resourcing decisions and deal with unforeseen circumstances.
* Ability to lead a team to ensure performance and behaviours are of a high standard.
* Ability to read and comprehend job plans and specifications.
* Clear written and verbal communication skills, including capable computer skills.
* Current Heavy Vehicle and Drivers Licence.
