What You'll Be Doing
The Safeguards Child and Adolescent Mental Health Clinician will apply their in-depth levels of clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge to plan, coordinate, and implement evidence based, trauma informed and developmentally appropriate assessment and treatment to children and adolescents (0 to 17 years) in acute mental health distress. The Safeguards Team is a new dedicated CAMHS resource designed to provide rapid response to resolve mental health crisis across community and inpatient settings. The position sits within the Safeguards CAMHS Response Team ('Safeguards Team') and reports to the FWLHD – Safeguards Team Clinical Leader with professional responsibility to the FWLHD – CAMHS District Manager.

Qualifications
* Applicants must meet one of the below criteria:
o Occupational Therapy Level 3: AHPRA registered as an Occupational Therapist & have minimum 3 years clinical experience in CAMHS.
o Social Worker Level 3: A Bachelor of Social Work with eligibility for membership to AASW & have minimum 3 years clinical experience in CAMHS.
o Graduate of the Djirruŋ Bachelor of Health Science program & have minimum 3 years clinical experience in CAMHS.
o Psychologist Year 4 or above: AHPRA registered, full registration with Psychology Board of Australia & have minimum 4 years clinical experience.
o Senior Psychologist: AHPRA registered, full registration with Psychology Board of Australia & have minimum 1 year at the 9th year of service & thereafter point on the salary scale for Psychologist.
o Clinical Nurse Consultant 1: AHPRA registered as a RN with minimum 5 years FTE post registered clinical experience & postgraduate qualifications relevant to area of specialty.
* Extensive effective experience in assessment, intervention and care coordination, in CAMHS.
* Demonstrated ability to independently problem solve, apply professional and ethical boundaries when working with complex situations as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Extensive contemporary experience and knowledge of psychological practice, as well as demonstrated understanding of the principles of trauma informed care and its application when working with children/adolescents and families/carers.
* Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and competence in the use of information technology systems.
* Available to work extended hours and across FWLHD sites on request.
* Current unrestricted Australian driver's licence (P2 licence acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW driver's licence within 3 months of appointment.
