Ocius Technology is an Australian company dedicated to developing and deploying cutting edge Uncrewed Surface Vehicles (USVs). Our vessel's harness Wind, Solar and Wave power to remain at sea collecting vital data for Defence and Civilian applications.
We are under contracts with RAN, RNZN and USA and are responding in an agile way to an ambitious program of building and deploying multiple USVs for operations around Australia and beyond.
About the Role
The Field Engineer based in Darwin at the Ocius Forward Operation base positioned at the HMAS Coonawarra Navy facility will provide Engineering support for the Darwin Operations and maintenance team.
The role will be instrumental in providing expert level electronics and mechanical support to ensure our North Australian based fleet remain on-water and maintain mission capable status.
The Operations function is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the design of Ocius assets, particularly in our on-water operations, maintenance and training of both internal staff and external customers.
Typical Day
* Performing deep-level root cause analysis to determine and repair technical issues
* Redesigning elements within on-board systems to ensure ongoing reliability
* Getting hands‐on repairing mechanical and electronic components on the Bluebottle platform
Selection Criteria
* 3-5 years of experience designing complicated Mechatronics systems
* Experience troubleshooting complicated mechanical and electronics equipment, including using test equipment for fault finding
* Experience reading electronic and mechanical schematics to understand overall system architecture to support deep-level fault finding
* Strong understanding of and experience in improving reliability of systems currently in operation
* Hands‐on experience building and/or repairing electronics and mechanical systems
