We are seeking a full-time permanent Property Maintenance Officer to be based from our Orange or Bathurst office.
This is a varied role with a mix of technical, organisational and customer interface responsibilities including:
* Providing technical advice in the provision of all maintenance activities across the portfolio;
* Monitoring the defects register for new dwellings;
* Undertaking scoping of vacant and void properties;
* Conducting quality assurance, safety and Long Term Asset Planning inspections;
* Ensuring compliance with the Sector Minimum Asset Standards;
* Coordinating and managing contractors;
* Taking calls on the maintenance hotline, creating and monitoring work orders, processing invoices, and liaising with contractors.
Generally the role is 'off-the-tools' however you might occasionally be asked to perform very minor repairs where it is more practicable than bringing in a contractor.
To be successful, you will require a trade or other relevant qualification along with:
* Prior experience managing building contracts, preferably in a housing environment;
* Project management skills;
* Working knowledge of relevant building and safety legislation;
* Solid administrative and computer skills;
* Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and vary socio-economic circumstances;
* Current unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence.
You will be required to obtain a Police Check and Working with Children Check if successful.

The Property Maintenance Officer is classified as a Level 5.1 under the SCHADS Award, which equates to $101,047 gross per annum. This will increase on an annual basis in line with the pay points in the Award.
