Job Summary
A motivated and professional Administrative Assistant is required to join our busy medical/surgical ward. The successful candidate will be responsible for greeting and directing patients, visitors, and hospital staff in a courteous and professional manner.
About The Role
* The Ward Clerk will be responsible for answering and managing incoming calls and inquiries for the ward.
* Maintain accurate patient records, including admission, discharge, and transfer documentation.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be working closely with the nursing and medical staff to ensure that all administrative duties are completed efficiently.
Responsibilities
* Greet and direct patients, visitors, and hospital staff in a courteous and professional manner.
* Answer and manage incoming calls and inquiries for the ward.
* Maintain accurate patient records, including admission, discharge, and transfer documentation.
* Update electronic medical records and paper files as required.
* Schedule appointments, tests, and procedures in coordination with clinical staff.
* Liaise with other hospital departments such as radiology, pharmacy, and housekeeping.
* Ensure all clerical supplies are stocked and ordered as needed.
* Assist in preparing patient charts and maintaining ward filing systems.
* Process incoming and outgoing mail and internal correspondence.
* Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with hospital policies and regulations.
* Support the nursing and medical staff with administrative duties as needed.
Requirements And Skills
* Previous experience in a healthcare or administrative role is preferred.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, sensitive environment with a high level of accuracy.
* Knowledge of medical terminology is an advantage.
