**About the team** 
The Trackwork Transport Team is in charge of coordinating large-scale busing activities related to trackwork. The team is responsible for identifying and defining busing strategies which minimise impacts to the travelling customer during periods of track work, liaising with external agencies, and busing operations management.
**The opportunity**
Right now, we have a Full-Time, permanent position available in the Short Term Planning Division for a highly experienced, dynamic Trackwork Transport Manager. 
The primary purpose of the role is to manage and oversee the development of operational busing plans and contingencies for the delivery of planned trackwork and alternative transport, and to lead and support the trackwork transport team to deliver improved customer outcomes and planning efficiencies. 
The role will also play a key part in delivering several strategic priorities across the Planning division; data driven planning and decision making, Operational Excellence and end-to-end customer focused multi modal journey planning. In addition to delivering the changes, outcomes and benefits specified by the Rail Replacement Improvement Program.
**The main responsibilities for this role are, but not limited to**:
- Manage effective and cost efficient operational strategies for the delivery of planned trackwork, and alternative transport. 
- Manage the development of operational plans and contingencies for the delivery of planned trackwork, and alternative transport. 
- Manage a specialised team to ensure a coordinated, customer focused, data driven approach is taken to the planning and specification of trackwork plans, and alternative transport. 
- Manage the track work transport team through changes delivered by the 'Rail Replacement Improvement' strategic program to ensure program objectives are met and benefits fully realised. 
- Monitor the success of the operational track work transport plans and arrangements and drive continuous improvements across the team 
- Manage the provision of contract specifications and contractor's compliance to requirements in relation to alternative transport arrangements. 
- Manage operational debriefs in relation to the delivery of planned trackwork, and alternative transport. 
- Supervise and coach staff, overseeing work completed, building the skills required to develop internal expertise and ensuring that staff are adequately resourced to perform 
- Consistently deliver efficiency and set a platform for increased commerciality and continuous improvement.

**About you**
You will have significant experience managing a team through operational change, and experience in an operational planning and/or scheduling environment. Given the opportunity and current status of the team, you will need to be capable of driving and inspiring changes and new ways of working, and you will require strong problem solving capability. As Track work Transport Manager, you are required to have excellent communication skills, superior stakeholder management including the ability to manage conflict and negotiate.
**Essential requirements**:
- Demonstrated Operational planning experience in track work transport- Experience managing a team 
- Demonstrated Experience delivering change, and managing a team through a period of significant change 
- A collaborative approach and demonstrated experience managing vendors, suppliers, third party Operators to deliver to requirements, time, budget
**Desirable requirements**:
- Experience in customer journey-based planning, and an understanding of the principles- Knowledge of transport planning in the bus industry
**Salary and benefits**
The salary for this position is RC Grade 7 ($143,555 - $157,945) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
