The RoleThis permanent, full-time position will require you to work on site in the main workshop within the fitting team.
You will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of general machining using lathes, borers, line boring equipment, and milling machines.
You will also help the fitting team to carry out rebuilds of a wide variety of fixed plant equipment from gearboxes, pumps, conveyor drums to vent fans in a large workshop environment.
This is a residential role in Mount Isa, working a 48-hour week 4/3 or a 56-hour week 5/2 roster.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:Reclaiming bores on earth moving equipment and fixed plant equipmentProducing work to specific manufacturing standards, sizes, and finishesWorking as part of the line boring team when neededStrip, measure, inspect and report on all componentsAttending to jobs both on customer premises and in the workshopGeneral machining which will include the use of lathes, large horizontal borers, and milling machinesCorrectly interpret and apply engineering drawings, measuring equipment, and company documentationComplete assigned work and associated paperwork to a high standard with the relevant notes regarding any repairsEnsuring safe work behaviours for yourself and your fellow team membersEffective time managementYou will have the following skillset and attributes:Trade qualified with a minimum of 3 years post-trade experienceHold a current manual Australian driver's licenseForklift ticket, basic rigger/doggers ticket, and gantry crane are preferredExperience with CNC machining highly regarded but not essentialWelding qualifications / experience (desirable)Experience operating line boring equipmentExperience using a manual horizontal borer and vertical lathe (advantage)Comprehensive knowledge of engineering and fabrication solutionsWork history in a similar environmentExceptional safety standardsTime management and ability to prioritise competing demandsAbility to maintain high work standardsAbility to problem solve and show a high level of initiativeAbility to read and interpret drawingsFor further information, please contact: Bec McManus on Applications Close: 8:00am Wednesday 7th May 2025 #J-18808-Ljbffr
