Job Description
As our existing Allied Health team continues to do amazing work, our referral base keeps quickly growing, creating opportunities to expand our Allied Health team. The position is suitable for experienced practitioners who are able to work independently and are excited to build up our Allied Health team in Darwin! The successful candidate will be integrally involved in delivering occupational therapy services in the NT, as well as providing supervision and support to the occupational therapy team in the NT. The successful applicant will be supported by other Allied Health clinicians in the NT, as well as remotely by SAL Consulting Occupational Therapists in other States. On the ground support will also be provided by the wider trans-disciplinary team of practitioners across the SAL Consulting team.
Responsibilities
* Providing a range of assessments and reports, e.g. Sensory Profile, Functional Assessments, Cognitive Functional Assessments, Multi-disciplinary Assessments (FASD, Motor Skills Assessment, Housing and Support Needs Assessments)
* Identifying Occupational Therapy goals with the person and/or their family or carers
* Developing Occupational Therapy intervention plans
* Providing Occupational Therapy support in a variety of settings incl. in the home, the community, in schools, the clinic or via telehealth (where appropriate)
* Developing individual resources for the person and identifying useful strategies
* Providing training for parents, carers and/or support workers
* Attending Care Team Meetings and providing Occupational Therapy specific input
* Supervision and support of other Occupational Therapists within the SAL Consulting team
Essential Criteria
* A degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent and registration (or eligibility to register) with AHPRA
Desirable Experience, Interest And Skills
* Experience in working with people with intellectual disabilities and/or experiences of trauma who have complex needs
* Experience in comprehensive assessments of individuals functional needs; sensory assessment and profiling; and holistic lifestyle assessment and associated goal setting
* Experience in administration and interpretation of a variety of assessment tools
* Experience in supervision and mentoring of staff
Qualifications and Requirements
* Have a current Driver's Licence
* Have a current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening, or the ability to attain these checks
