Maggie Beer Holdings, we are seeking an exceptional Head of Sales & Category to lead our sales and category function for Maggie Beer Products, a brand synonymous with quality, provenance, and innovation.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager – Maggie Beer Products, this role has full P&L accountability across a diverse and high‐profile customer base including Woolworths, Coles, Aldi, Costco, Independents, Foodservice, Harris Farm, David Jones and export markets.
You'll lead and inspire a high‐performing team across National Accounts, Category, Sales, and Export, driving strategic growth and operational excellence. This role offers autonomy, influence, and the opportunity to shape the future of a beloved Australian brand.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership
* Develop and execute long‐term joint business plans (JBP's) with key retail partners
* Lead portfolio, customer, and channel strategy in line with growth ambitions
* Identify and unlock NPD opportunities aligned to market trends and customer needs
* Drive pricing, promotional, and category strategies to maximise ROI and profitability
Operational Leadership
* Deliver against sales, volume, and profit targets across all channels
* Lead execution of sales and marketing initiatives aligned to business plans
* Drive distribution, ranging, and in‐store execution excellence
* Optimise customer investment to deliver strong commercial outcomes
* Own forecasting, budgeting, and inventory alignment with supply chain
* Lead category reviews with a strong focus on customer and consumer outcomes
* Analyse market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitor activity
* Leverage data (e.g. IRI) to generate actionable insights and strategies
* Lead market assessment processes to support portfolio and product decisions
* Identify opportunities and risks, providing clear recommendations
* Lead, coach, and develop a high‐performing sales and category team
* Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
* Ensure clear KPIs, performance management, and development pathways
* Foster strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
* Lead with high emotional intelligence, influencing at all levels
About You
You are a strategic and commercially driven leader with a passion for FMCG and a proven ability to deliver results in a complex retail environment.
You will bring
* 8+ years' experience in FMCG sales and/or category management
* Strong experience managing major retailers (Coles/Woolworths highly desirable)
* Demonstrated success in negotiation, joint business planning, and customer growth
* Deep commercial acumen with strong P&L ownership experience
* Ability to translate data and insights into clear, actionable strategies
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
* A growth mindset, resilience, and a hands‐on leadership style
