Overview
Get Skilled Access is seeking a person with disability or a lived connection to disability who has strong community ties and a passion to advance inclusion in sport. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are strongly encouraged to apply.
Role Location
The Inclusion Coach will be based in Alice Springs, and work across local government areas including Alice Springs Town Council, Barclay Regional Council, MacDonnell Regional Council and Central Desert Regional Council.
About the Organisation and Role
About Get Skilled Access: a disability inclusion and accessibility consulting organisation focused on authentic inclusion experiences and outcomes. Sport4All is a program designed and delivered by Get Skilled Access to build inclusion capability in community and school sport.
About Sport4All: The program is funded by the Federal Government to help clubs and schools be more accessible and inclusive for people with disability. Local Inclusion Coaches work with clubs and schools to connect with Sport4All resources and complete the training program.
Role Summary
The Inclusion Coach must be a person with disability or have a lived connection to disability, with prior involvement in sport as a player, volunteer, or administrator. The coach will connect local sporting clubs and schools with the Sport4All website and resources, support completion of the Sport4All training, and build relationships to promote inclusion of people with disability in sport.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
* Develop connections with First Nations organisations and the sporting community within the region.
* Collaborate with the Get Skilled Access Sport4All Team.
* Understand and work toward the Sport4All program goals with local clubs and schools.
* Engage clubs and schools with the Sport4All training and resources.
* Create a plan to contact and maintain connections with sporting clubs and schools for reporting purposes.
* Contribute to Sport4All program meetings to ensure goals are met and measured.
* Build positive relationships with clubs and schools to bring them into the program.
* Support clubs and schools to work through the Sport4All program and connect with other relevant organisations to achieve inclusion goals.
* Check in, assess, and support clubs, schools, and organisations to create more inclusive opportunities for people with disability.
* Support schools and clubs to deliver inclusive activities such as sessions and workshops.
* Promote Sport4All and educate community groups about inclusion benefits of sport.
* Engage diverse groups, including First Nations communities, in inclusive sport opportunities.
* Keep records and data on Club/School connections and participant inclusion.
* Empower sporting communities to improve inclusion of people with disability.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Qualities
* Ability to build strong relationships with people and groups connected to Sport4All.
* Strong communication skills (face-to-face, email, phone) with diverse audiences.
* Written and public speaking skills; ability to explain inclusion concepts clearly.
* Independent, proactive, resourceful with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Ability to engage grassroots sporting clubs, schools, and leaders.
* Ability to plan travel within the local region to engage with clubs and schools.
* Organisational and administrative skills, including calendar management and data entry.
* Competence with data collection and tracking using computer programs.
* Time management and prioritisation while maintaining ongoing communications with stakeholders.

Other Relevant Requirements
* This role may require travel within Northern Territory.
* Some work outside ordinary hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required.
Conditions of Employment
* Right to work in Australia (citizen, permanent residency, or eligible visa).
* Current Working with Children Check (employee).
* Ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory National Police Criminal History Check prior to appointment.
