AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centres and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and we're looking for talented people who want to help. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Responsibilities

Logistics Specialists play a vital role in the success of Amazon Web Services by providing the right part, in the right place at the right time. Your contribution to this success includes maintaining the onsite parts room in AWS Data Centres, managing the custody of computer hardware through its lifecycle. This involves receiving parts, safely storing parts, picking and delivering parts to hardware technicians, cycle counts, and returning faulty hardware to the vendor. You will work closely with Data Centre Operations and Engineering teams to ensure reliable functioning and repair activities to support our customers, while adhering to our operational tenets of safety, security and availability.

* Maintaining inventory to ensure proper stock levels to support build and repair activities.
* Physically receiving and issuing parts as needed for internal customers.
* Loading, unloading and transporting parts between different sites.
* Keeping accurate stock records for all items through physical cycle counts.
* Maintaining the safety, organisation, and cleanliness of all workspaces using Amazon 7S principles.

Travel

* The role may require travel to other sites in the Melbourne metro area to assist in conducting cycle counts, receiving stock into the inventory control system, replenishing stock and returning defective stock. Travel between sites will require own transport; all travel-related costs will be reimbursed.

Physical / Environmental Demands

* Safety-focused environment with appropriate tools to support safe work.
* Loading and unloading shipments; standing, sitting, and walking (including stairs) for prolonged periods.
* Willing and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend and kneel.
* Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance.
* Push or pull heavy objects up to 16 kg; participate in group lifts of 20 kg or more.
* Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment; work around moving mechanical parts.
* Work in an office and warehouse environment with low to moderate noise.

A day in the life

Your day will be spent carrying out logistical support functions for our Data Centres. This involves physical control and processing of spare parts transactions, consumables stock replenishment, and cycle counting of stock.

Basic Qualifications

* 1+ years of logistics experience
* 1+ years of material forecasting experience

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with shipping & receiving, inventory and warehousing practices
