THE OPPORTUNITY
We're seeking an exceptional Facility Coordinator – Aquatics to join the team at CISAC, a major aquatic and fitness hub in the ACT. In this pivotal role, you'll ensure our aquatic facilities operate safely, smoothly, and to the highest standard. You'll coordinate all lifeguard and aquatics services within the centre, overseeing daily operations and supporting teams to deliver outstanding experiences for members and guests.
This position is perfect for a proactive, action-oriented professional who thrives in dynamic environments. You'll collaborate with a range of stakeholders—including Swim School and other departments - while maintaining clear communication, effective processes, and an unwavering commitment to safety.
Leadership is at the heart of this role. You'll guide and support lifeguards and aquatics staff, set the benchmark for professionalism, and help build a positive, high-performing team culture. Your ability to coordinate, problem-solve, and communicate effectively will ensure CISAC's aquatic spaces remain safe, welcoming, and well-managed.

Essential:
* Current CPR and First Aid Certification
* RLS Pool Lifeguard License
* RLS Pool Lifeguard Statement of Attainment
* Aquatic Technical Operator (either SISSSS00110 – Aquatic Technical Operator or RLS Aquatic Technical Operator Statement of Attainment)
* RLSSA Approved Workplace Supervisor – Pool Lifeguard
* RLSSA Approved Workplace Supervisor – Technical Operator
Desirable
* Cert III or IV in Aquatic Recreation
* AUSTSWIM TSW, Swim Australia Teacher or Royal Life Swim Teacher
* AUSTSWIM, SWIM AUSTRALIA or RLS Extensions
* AUSTSWIM, SWIM AUSTRALIA or RLS Assessor
Skills & Experience
* Demonstrated experience working within an aquatic environment, with a strong understanding of all operational and safety functions.
* Minimum of two (2) years' experience performing lifeguard duties in a professional capacity.
* Proven ability to lead, support, and coordinate staff, including managing priorities and ensuring operational efficiency.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and community stakeholders.
* Highly developed verbal and written communication, consultation, and negotiation skills.
* Excellent time management and organisational abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Support the smooth, safe, and professional operation of all aquatic areas, ensuring facilities, equipment, and programs are prepared and maintained to the highest standards.
* Coordinate daily lifeguard and aquatic activities, oversee pool supervision practices, and ensure compliance with RLSSA guidelines, SOPs, and all safety and operational requirements.
* Recruit, train, roster, and lead a skilled lifeguard team, providing ongoing coaching, performance support, and ensuring strong coverage across all operational hours.
* Maintain a strong on-floor presence to uphold safety, respond to incidents, and ensure programs and bookings are delivered effectively and meet organisational expectations.
* Provide excellent customer service, supporting Swim School administration, responding to enquiries, and building positive relationships with members, staff, and stakeholders.
* Champion Viva Aquatic policies and safety procedures, participate in audits and safety initiatives, and confidently lead emergency responses—including acting as Chief Warden when required.
* Actively promote aquatic programs and services to enhance member engagement and community participation.
