A well-established law firm in Melbourne's Inner-East is seeking an experienced Lawyer or Associate (3–6 years PQE) to join its growing Property & Commercial practice.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior practitioners across acquisitions, property transactions, leasing, commercial work and owners corporation matters, acting for a diverse client base ranging from private individuals through to sophisticated corporate clients.
The Opportunity
This position will see you working across a genuinely broad practice, with a strong mix of transactional property and commercial work, alongside exposure to disputed compulsory acquisition matters. The role has been created due to continued growth and an increasing pipeline of work expected already ramping up within the firm.
You will enjoy close mentoring, direct client exposure, and the autonomy to run matters with support from a collaborative and well-resourced team.
Scope of Work
Your work will include (but won't be limited to):
* Compulsory acquisitions and compensation claims for landowners
* Corporate and commercial transactions
* Property matters including leasing, adverse possession and owners corporation issues
* Business and franchise sales and purchases
* Retirement village matters, survivorships, caveats and trust transfers
* Subdivisions, off-the-plan sales and title-related applications
* GST, land tax, SMSF and PPSR matters
About You
This role will suit a commercially minded lawyer who:
* Has 3–6 years PQE in property and/or commercial law
* Has some exposure to, or interest in, disputes or compulsory acquisition work
* Enjoys a varied workload and taking ownership of matters
* Is confident dealing directly with clients and building long-term relationships
* Values collaboration, mentorship and professional development
