Mechanical Plumbing Tradesperson / Leading Hand Location: Garbutt
Pay Rate:$40–$48 per hour (dependent on experience)
Position: Full Time Permanent
Chandler Macleod is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Plumbing Tradesperson / Leading Hand on behalf of our client. This role is ideal for a trade‑qualified professional who can support daily operations, mentor apprentices, and contribute to the successful delivery of projects while maintaining strong safety and quality standards
Key Responsibilities Team & Site Support
* Provide mentoring, support, and guidance to Labourers and Apprentices to ensure role responsibilities, performance expectations, and site‑specific requirements are met
* Attend and actively participate in onsite, team, department, and company meetings to communicate relevant information and address project, job, or works issues
* Assist management with coordinating day‑to‑day resourcing and work tasks to ensure efficiency and timely delivery
Operations & Project Delivery
* Assist with organising and coordinating materials, plant, and additional resources (including contractors) to support efficient project delivery
* Liaise with Management and the WHS&E Advisor to identify, document, and action work, health, safety, environment, and quality requirements, including site inductions, SWMS, pre‑starts, and WHS&E reporting
* Manage and maintain correct use of company and client assets, including plant, equipment, tools, and materials
* Assist the Supervisor/Manager with accurate material ordering, procurement, deliveries, and coordination of plant and equipment hire
* Deliver project and job activities to maximise resource efficiency and overall profitability, while identifying and assisting with solutions to potential project risks
* Compile and complete all compliance and handover documentation for allocated projects, ensuring accurate information is captured
* Work proactively and use initiative to follow up on project expectations and deliverables
* Manage and maintain all safety tasks as outlined in the role‑specific induction
* Maintain all Key Performance Indicators as set by the Managing Director
Requirements & Benefits
* Mechanical Plumbing Trade Qualification
* Current QBCC Mechanical Plumbing Licence
* Current Blue Card and White Card(mandatory)
* Ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol screening
