From humble beginnings in regional South Australia, we have grown into a full Construction, Engineering, Mining & Industrial Services, Sheds & Silos and Water Storage company which provides complete turnkey project solutions, supported by our 26 divisions.

As we continue to evolve, so does our need to heavily invest in our people and facilities for continued success.

About the Role

Ahrens is seeking experienced Fitters and Machinists to join our growing Mining & Industrial Services team based in Kwinana, WA.

In this role you'll be hands-on with the full range of mechanical maintenance, installation, and machining work — keeping plant and equipment running at full capacity across our industrial operations and client sites. From routine maintenance through to reactive fault-finding and shutdown work, you'll be a key part of a team that takes quality and safety seriously.

Key Accountabilities

* Performing routine and reactive maintenance on plant equipment — pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and crushers

* Diagnosing faults, dismantling machinery, and repairing or replacing defective parts

* Aligning and levelling machinery using precision tools such as dial indicators and laser alignment equipment

* Conducting lubrication, seal changes, and bearing replacements

* Operating lathes, milling machines, and CNC machines where required

* Loading and editing CNC programs and troubleshooting machining processes

* Measuring and inspecting components using precision instruments — micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators

* Installing new mechanical systems during planned shutdowns

* Testing repaired equipment and completing commissioning documentation before returning to service

* Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals

Essential Criteria

* Certificate III in Engineering — Mechanical Trade (Fitting & Machining or Machining) or equivalent

* Demonstrated experience in mechanical maintenance and/or machining in an industrial or mining services environment

* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

* Working at Heights and Confined Spaces tickets

* Current Australian driver's licence

* Strong attention to detail with a hands-on, results-focused approach

Desirable Criteria

* HRWL — Forklift and/or EWP

* Experience with CNC machining, G-code editing, and program adjustments

* Willingness to travel to other Ahrens project sites as required
