Job Overview
This is a senior leadership role within the Community Infrastructure Division, focusing on the supervision and maintenance of stormwater management systems and concrete structures across the Council's road network.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise daily activities of the team to ensure efficient delivery of maintenance and repairs.
* Perform regular safety checks on worksites, plant, and equipment to guarantee compliance with WHS legislation and safety protocols.
* Provide consistent and decisive leadership to the team to drive performance and growth.
* Lead maintenance activities for stormwater and concrete structures, ensuring high-quality results and adherence to construction standards.
* Scope and coordinate work with contractors, verifying all work meets quality standards and environmental policies upon completion.
Requirements
* Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and lead staff effectively.
* Knowledge of plant and equipment used in formwork, concreting, road construction, and pipe laying; ability to operate various hand and power tools.
* Working knowledge of employee obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act.
* Strong written and oral communication skills, along with computer literacy and numeracy.
* Construction Industry White Card and MR driver's licence are required; ability to work out of hours within an on-call roster for emergencies or programmed works as necessary.
