Electrical Design Leadership Role

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will lead the development of detailed, cost-effective electrical engineering designs that meet project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop electrical engineering designs for power generation and renewable energy projects.
* Create specifications, calculations, and equipment selection to ensure high-quality delivery.
* Guide junior engineers and CAD draughtsmen while promoting knowledge-sharing culture.
* Lead studies such as Load Flow, Fault Analysis, and G99 compliance.
* Contribute technical expertise during sales process, including reviewing RFQs and supporting client engagement.
* Collaborate with clients, contractors, and partners to ensure successful project outcomes.
* Liaise with Mechanical Engineers and Project Managers to align designs across disciplines.
* Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and standardisation initiatives.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you should have:
* A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
* At least 5 years' experience in electrical design within power generation or renewable energy sectors (1–25MW).
* Strong command of LV and MV system design, control, and instrumentation.
* Proficient in MS Office and electrical analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, DIgSILENT).
* Eligible to work in the UK and hold a valid UK/EU driving licence.
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration (e.g., IET).
* Knowledge of DNO/G99 requirements and HV substation design.
* Experience in CHP systems or hybrid power applications.
* Familiarity with AutoCAD, PLCs, SCADA, and grid connection processes.
