The Role
We're thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a passionate and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to become a key part of our Finance team at our new Shelford Campus
In this pivotal role, you'll be assisting with the weekly casual end to end payroll processes, providing expert advice and supporting our internal teams. Your work will directly contribute to a smooth and positive employee experience.
This is a part-time (3 days a week) fixed term until the 30 June 2027 – perfect for someone looking to make a meaningful impact while enjoying flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
* Responsible for processing and reporting of the weekly and fortnightly payroll
* Review, processing and coding of casual timesheets
* Provide payroll advice and communicate guidelines and policies to internal customers
* Ensure the data contained in the payroll system is accurate and up to date with respect to employee entitlements, rates of pay and other conditions of employment
* Participate in payroll/systems related project work
* Maintenance of employee records, including annual, long service and sick leave entitlements and all related reporting requirements
* Assist the payroll manager to provide leave and other reporting requirements to the finance team to enable completion of month end and year end procedures and to support preparation of the school's annual report
* Ensure adherence and demonstrate behaviours in accordance with the School's Child Safety Code of Conduct, including the Child Safe Standards
* Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours
Skills And Experience
* Considerable experience in a similar position, preferably within an educational setting
* Good working knowledge of relevant Employment Awards and National Employment Standards
* Demonstrated experience in working with payroll systems and manual processing
* Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills
* High level of attention to detail and analytical capability
* Experience with key relevant school system, Synergetic Payroll is highly desirable
* Employment Working With Children Check required
