We work with students, families and school leadership teams to connect, engage and maximise educational outcomes for young people.Weare looking for a Youth Worker to join the team at Gilston State School on a permanent part-time basis at 30.4 Hrs and 0.40 FTE per fortnight.The Wellbeing Workforce youth worker is based in schools, working alongside the school team, under the leadership and guidance of regional office based clinical supervisors, to maximise care for students.Gilston State School is seeking an enthusiastic Youth Worker to support the students and families in the school community two days per week.The role of the youth worker includes:Enhancing students' social skills, assertiveness, self-esteem and problem-solving skills through a strengths-based approach to providing support.Using school data sets to monitor students' wellbeing and engagement and intervene early by providing counselling and support to address reasons for wellbeing concerns and disengagement.Work with students, and their families, to determine and implement strategies suited to their context that help students to have a more positive educational experience.Developing targeted strategies with students to address school avoidance or difficulties navigating social and learning situations.Work collaboratively with cohorts of students that may be facing similar challenges to build peer relationships and establish social networks for support.About YouHighly regarded skills and experience:Experience working with children and/or youth.Tertiary qualification in youth work or similar.Experience working in a school environment.This role is a permanent part-time position with South East Region Wellbeing Workforce.
