About the role: Join our Community Outreach Youth Program as a Case Worker and make a real difference in the lives of young people. This role is all about empowering youth to thrive and helping them build resilience, manage life's challenges, and reduce the harms associated with Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) use.

You'll deliver evidence-based treatment and harm minimisation strategies, working closely with young people, their families, and the wider community. Our program supports youth aged 10–19 across the Northern Rivers region from Coffs Harbour to Tweed.

The role is funded until 30th June 2026 with strong potential for extension.

Hours and location:

Impactful Work: Help shape brighter futures for young people.

Flexible Hours: 27 hours per week, spread over 4 or 5 days—no weekends

Variety & Connection: Work across schools, community services, and the Acmena Youth Justice Centre in Grafton.

Hybrid Approach: Enjoy a mix of remote work and in-person engagement.

Travel Made Easy: Access to a pool car at our Binna Burra site for work-related travel.

About you: Selection criteria: (Must be addressed in application – see "How to apply" below)

Qualifications and checks

Diploma or higher tertiary qualification in areas such as AOD, social work, psychology, youth work or mental health

Current Driver's Licence, a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check

Professional skills and experience

A minimum of two years' experience coordinating support for individuals with complex support needs including in particular AOD support needs co-occurring with serious mental health issues and other issues such as: trauma, homelessness, family and cultural separation or contact with the criminal justice system

Demonstrated experience working with young people with substance use disorder

Established networks and relationships with a range of services in the local area

Strong administrative skills, computer literacy in MS Office and proficient use of technology such as databases, video conferencing and mobile devices

Willingness to travel around the Northern Rivers region

This role will be remunerated at SCHCDS Level 3 $38-41ph with access to salary packaging to potentially increase your take home pay by another 5k.
