The Role We're looking for a Senior Unity Engineer to join our team full-time at our Gold Coast office. Reporting into our established technical leadership, this is a hands-on engineering role where you'll be focused on building robust, scalable Unity solutions with a strong emphasis on backend systems, data flow, and integration — rather than frontend polish and visual design. You'll work closely with our product, design, and backend teams to deliver meaningful experiences that bring our platform to life.
What You'll Be Doing
* Developing and maintaining high-quality Unity applications across iOS and Android platforms
* Building and owning backend-facing Unity systems including API integrations, data management, state management, and business logic
* Writing clean, efficient, well-documented C# code
* Collaborating with designers and product managers to implement features that are technically sound and performant
* Participating in code reviews and contributing to a culture of technical excellence
* Optimising application performance across a range of mobile devices with a focus on reliability and stability
* Working within an agile team under established technical leadership to deliver against sprint goals
* Contributing to technical scoping and architecture discussions
What We're Looking For
* 5+ years of professional Unity development experience
* Minimum 3-4 years Unity experience acceptable for candidates with strong backend development skills
* Strong proficiency in C# and Unity's core systems
* A backend-first mindset — you understand how Unity applications communicate with external systems, manage data, and handle business logic
* Proven experience integrating REST APIs and working with backend services within Unity
* Solid understanding of application architecture, design patterns, and performance optimisation
* Experience shipping mobile applications on iOS and/or Android
* Experience with version control systems (Git)
* Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex technical problems within a structured team environment
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
Bonus Points For
* Experience in fintech, edtech, or gamification
* Familiarity with real-time data handling and financial transaction flows within Unity
* Experience working in an agile/scrum environment
* Prior experience in a senior engineering role within a product-led company
