About the Position
Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service seeks a highly motivated and skilled Child Health Nurse to provide specialist child health services to children and their families. The successful candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based child health services, including child health assessments, immunizations, and developmental screening.
The ideal candidate will have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife. Expert knowledge of the WA Immunisation Schedule in relation to childhood immunisations and accreditation to provide vaccinations or willingness to undertake accreditation within six months is also essential.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Deliver culturally sensitive child healthcare, conduct evidence-based assessments and screenings, identify high-risk children, administer developmental assessments, ensure immunization compliance, and support staff in child health assessments.
* Foster preventative care and early intervention, offer guidance to families, and facilitate effective stakeholder management and teamwork.
* Responsibilities include client education, maintaining clinical standards, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and liaising with medical teams and community services.
* The position requires flexibility in fulfilling additional assigned duties from the line manager.
