Kennedys is seeking a driven and proactive Events Manager to join our high-performing business development and marketing team in Australia. The role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves variety, enjoys collaborating with smart people, and takes pride in creating experiences that leave a lasting impression.
Reporting directly to the Senior Business Development Manager, and working collaboratively with the APAC Events Manager, you'll be at the heart of delivering a packed calendar of events across Australia.
If you're passionate about the client experience, strategic growth, and making a real difference within a global firm – we'd love to hear from you
Team
Kennedys' global business development and marketing team plays a vital role in promoting the firm's services and driving our ambitious strategy across key clients and markets. The Australian BD&M team works in close collaboration with colleagues in APAC, the UK, US, EMEA and LatAm on a wide range of business development, marketing and communications initiatives.
In Australia, the team supports a growing national footprint across four office locations, delivering strategic support across Business Development, Clients and Marketing & Communications. With a strong culture of collaboration, team members at times work flexibly across functions, providing support and stepping in as needed to meet shifting priorities and key deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and coordinate the Australian client events calendar — ensuring all activities are planned, scheduled, and executed seamlessly
* Provide guidance to partners, industry colleagues, and BD&M team on upcoming events, helping them maximise client engagement opportunities
* Identify and develop event opportunities that align with the firm's strategic priorities and values, strengthening our brand presence in the market
* Deliver end‑to‑end event management — overseeing logistics, budgets, and stakeholder communications for a wide range of events, including strategic client functions, seminars, and webinars hosted both onsite and at external venues
* Support national initiatives by contributing to events across Australia when required, ensuring consistency and excellence in delivery
* Own the logistics — from name badges and client welcomes to room set‑ups and IT checks for in‑person events, plus technical run‑throughs and smooth delivery for virtual and hybrid formats
* Keep events on budget while ensuring every detail reflects quality and professionalism
* Create engaging invitations using our event marketing platform and track attendance through InterAction, producing regular reports to measure impact
* Maintain visibility by keeping the firm's website, intranet, and events calendar up to date
* Assist with the coordination of sponsorship entitlements in line with product group and firm strategy
* Contribute to innovation by supporting projects within the APAC Events team and wider APAC BD&M group that enhance operational effectiveness and elevate the firm's reputation in the market
* Support event and sponsorship delivery through occasional travel and flexible to work outside of business hours
Who We Are Looking For
* Proven experience in event management within a professional services environment, with a track record of delivering high‑quality outcomes
* Deep knowledge of event management processes and familiarity with Australian suppliers, venues, and information sources suited to our firm's needs
* Hands‑on expertise in managing multiple events simultaneously — from budgeting and stakeholder engagement to supplier coordination and end‑to‑end delivery
* Strong background in webinars, virtual, and hybrid events, with the ability to ensure seamless execution across formats
* Exceptional organisational skills and the confidence to take initiative, own projects, and see them through to completion
* Ability to juggle priorities and deadlines while maintaining focus and accuracy across multiple projects
* Results‑driven mindset, with a focus on business benefit, service excellence, and client impact
* Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy
* Outstanding communication skills — both written and verbal — with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
* Adaptable and flexible, thriving in dynamic environments and embracing change with confidence
* Creative problem‑solver, able to turn challenges into opportunities
* Strong technical skills, including proficiency in event management / e-mail marketing systems (e.g. Vuture, InterAction), Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
