Business Unit: Cubic Transportation Systems
Job Summary
Conduct fault finding to component level tasks and repairs. Support stakeholders with software-based and configuration upgrades to ensure all devices within the network are operational. Ensure KPIs for components are met and the performance positively contributes to the Cubic Transportation Systems overall business goals. This position typically works under general supervision and direction.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Diagnose and troubleshoot electronic and electro‐mechanical equipment using computer‐based test programs, verbal/written instructions, and general‐purpose test equipment.
* Interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Utilise, install, verify and troubleshoot required/loaded software on both testing equipment and customer return devices according to Software Release Notifications (SRN).
* Read schematics and diagrams to determine methods of assembly and repair.
* Operate diagnostic systems to debug and isolate complex faults to component level.
* Repair faulty units by replacing defective components and retest before release.
* Rework printed circuit boards (PCBs) with surface‐mount and through‐hole components.
* Perform in‐house preventative maintenance and refurbishment of major modules.
* Maintain accurate records of all daily work and record keeping using a computer maintenance management system.
* Suggest ways of improving methods and procedures, including software and firmware loading improvements.
* Identify, analyse, and resolve problems related to electromechanical machinery and equipment.
* Set up hardware and install and configure software and drivers.
* Maintain and repair technological equipment (e.g., routers) or peripheral devices.
* Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality.
* Report any potential non‐conformance or problems.
* Provide accurate information for Cubic's service management systems.
* Report all WHSE incidents, potential hazards, near misses and accidents.

Minimum Job Requirements
* Diploma in Electronics Engineering, Certificate IV in Engineering or similar, or an equivalent level of commercial experience in a relevant role.
Skills, Experience and Knowledge
* Knowledge and understanding of the IT Service Management (ITSM) system.
* Knowledge and understanding of electrical, electronic and mechanical schematics.
* Ability to perform a variety of technical duties, including remedial and preventative maintenance of customer equipment and assets.
* Knowledge of diagnostic systems to debug and isolate complex faults to component level.
Desirable
* Experience in fault‐finding to component level and remedial service of microprocessor‐based electromechanical devices.
* Experience in handling computers and software applications (rebuilding a PC component level equipment).
* Strong knowledge of computer hardware and IT literacy.
