Navantia Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join the team out of its Canberra office. Reporting to the Chief Business Development Officer, this role will undertake business development activities to help shape and influence strategic decisions by key Defence and Government decision makers to support the company's growth trajectory by driving commercial performance and client engagement.
As the successful candidate, you will have impeccable communication skills and a knack for building lasting relationships.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Follow industry trends locally and overseas, research business opportunities, identify customer needs.
2. Expand, manage and retain enduring relationships with key Defence stakeholders.
3. Contribute to design and implement of win strategies specific to each capture.
4. Lead the capture of specific opportunities, ensuring alignment with Navantia Australia strategy.
5. Collaborate with engineering and innovation teams to deliver project solutions.
6. Maintain and update business development forecast (MS Dynamics)
7. Support the development and execution of marketing and communication plans.
As the ideal candidate, you will have:
* Bachelor Degree in a related discipline
* Extensive experience within the Defence Industry, ideally Royal Australian Navy at mid-management level.
* Proven success in the Australian Defence sector, ideally in Defence acquisition or sustainment projects.
* Exemplar understanding of Commonwealth and Royal Australian Navy organisation, landscape, operational approach
* Exceptional communication skills with proven ability to collaborate with Defence customers at all levels
* Advanced problem-solving, influencing, and stakeholder management abilities.
