Overview
Tutors/Mentors for children/young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. Volunteers are needed to offer care and support to children of refugee/migrant backgrounds at their schools. Children from these backgrounds often feel isolated and anxious and may withdraw from classroom participation. A caring and supportive volunteer, who is willing to build a trusting relationship, can make a difference by assisting a child or small group of children to tackle classroom tasks and build confidence and self-esteem.
Volunteers are assigned to a primary or secondary school, depending on their preference, and are expected to attend for three hours per week, during school hours, for the school year. Applications are now open for our next intake.
