Role Overview
As a Business Analyst, you will perform traceability to strategic requirements and develop detailed business analysis including benefits, risk, feasibility and options analysis, scope definition, prioritisation, stakeholder workshop facilitation, root-cause analysis, acceptance activities, and process improvement.
You will translate business requirements from technical and non-technical users into appropriate solutions.
Responsibilities – ASD 6 Business Analyst
Analyse stakeholder objectives and underlying issues arising from investigations into business needs, problems and opportunities.
Develop plans and select appropriate techniques at the correct level of detail to meet assigned objectives.
Provide advice and guidance to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Identify potential business benefits and options to realise improvements.
Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in teamwork and group activities.
Accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes, sharing expertise with others and mentoring less experienced employees.
Appraise and verify new and updated business outcomes to ensure they meet Defence requirements.
Responsibilities – ASD EL1 Business Analyst
5+ years of demonstrated experience in business analysis within complex IT environments.
High level of accountability, capable of working under broad direction to deliver and lead highly complex business analysis activities on time.
Investigate business needs, problems and opportunities and recommend effective business processes.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify needs, reach agreement on objectives and gain commitment to results.
Assess and evaluate artefacts such as business requirements, specifications and feasibility studies.
Analyse very complex ICT business problems and apply expertise to identify and recommend courses of action.
Prepare or contribute to business cases defining potential benefits and options for achieving benefits through new or changed processes.
Advise stakeholders and colleagues on choice of techniques, tools and processes required for modelling and analysis activities.
Actively manage key stakeholder relationships, identify expectations and concerns, and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes.
Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in mentoring and providing guidance.
