An exciting opportunity has arisen within North Staffordshire area.
The Social Care pathway provides a recovery focussed service to the people of North and South Staffordshire aged 16 and over who are experiencing significant and disabling functional mental health difficulties and support their recovery journey as core members of the integrated mental health pathways.
We are supported by strong partnerships with local independent service providers and voluntary agencies and pride ourselves on providing a responsive, reflective, and effective service to the communities of North and South Staffordshire.
We currently have an opportunity for a Level 1 social care professionals and would welcome applications from qualified social workers who are registered with Social Work England.
Main duties of the job
The team is currently based within North Staffordshire, covering the areas of Newcastle and Moorlands, this locality covers a vast area of rural Staffordshire, whilst the team also attend hospital settings and placements out of area for assessment and reviews. Therefore, it is essential that the applicant holds a full UK Driving Licence.
The team work closely with clinical mental health teams and are part of the multidisciplinary collaboration.
We support newly qualified social workers to complete their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) and it is also an expectation, in due course, AMHP training as part of the career progression which is supported by the Social Work Learning Academy.
We are looking for enthusiastic, proactive and innovative individuals who possesses excellent communication and Organisational skills and have a good working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Mental Health Act 1983.
The successful candidates must be team players with excellent communication and IT skills.

Qualifications And Training
Essential criteria
* Professional Social Work qualification, DipSW, CQSW, CSS, BA, MA or Foreign qualification where certified by the Professional Social Work regulatory body
* Ensuring current registration with the Professional Social Work regulatory body at all times
* A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development including undertaking the Pre-AMHP and AMHP programme
Desirable criteria
* To be in the process of completing the ASYE or other Post Qualifying Award
