About The Role
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer plays a pivotal role in maintaining the reliability, integrity, and performance of our core infrastructure platforms. Reporting directly to the Technical Platform Specialists Lead, this position is crucial for delivering secure, resilient, and scalable technology services that support Council’s operations.
Key Activities Of This Role Include
Lead and guide the Infrastructure Engineers to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure servicesMaintain and optimise core infrastructure platforms, focusing on on-premises environments and hybrid cloud integrationCollaborate with the M365 Specialist Team and Network Team to ensure seamless operation and technical alignmentImplement and maintain disaster recovery capabilities and support cyber security operationsContribute to infrastructure maintenance plans, system patches, upgrades, and improvementsEnsure compliance with enterprise architecture and security standards
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
Degree qualification in Computer Science / Information Technology Computer Science / Information Technology or related field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role combined with ongoing professional development
You will also have
Extensive experience in management of large and complex IT environments including Physical and virtual infrastructure Demonstrated experience in leading and developing innovative capabilities and continuous improvement across and IT risk managementProven strong verbal and written communication skills;Proven ability to assess, interpret and judge information or situations, and formulate recommendations, provide specialist advice or deliver a service, based on the findings.

The commencing salary for this position is up to $106.6K. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $123.5k on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation We have a permanent full-time role availableThis role will be able to access a 9 day fortnightWe are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role - 2 days from home and 3 days onsiteProvide infrastructure support coverage aligned with Council’s 24/7 operational requirements, including participation in on-call rosters and escalation procedures for critical incidents outside standard business hours. This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building
