Your new role:
As part of the Communications and Engagement Team, this position is responsible for developing and implementing innovative and effective community engagement strategies to gather feedback, publicise and promote Council’s activities and enhance Council’s corporate image.
As the Community Engagement Officer you will be responsible for ensuring Council’s community engagement framework is adopted and enacted across the organisation, playing a lead role in the ongoing development of a community engagement culture within the organisation, supporting project staff in undertaking community engagement on issues and projects as operationally required and building open and positive relationships across the organisation to enable the productions and coordination of community information.
What you will need to succeed:
We are looking for someone with:
* Tertiary qualifications in Journalism, Marketing, Communications and/or Public Relations or alternatively relevant demonstrated experience;
* Experience in client or customer support and management;
* Experience in utilising the IAP2 engagement framework;
* Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly in Word, PowerPoint and other relevant software packages such as Adobe Creative Cloud; and
* Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills as well as solid time management and planning skills.
