About the position

We are seeking Installation Technicians to join the team at the Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA), to support for the preparation, installation, maintenance, and de-installation of exhibitions, collection displays, and loans.

An exciting opportunity to join the State’s premier Art Gallery as we work to present the work of local, national and international artists for the enjoyment of our audiences. The position requires an interest in arts and culture, a warm, welcoming and collaborative nature, interpersonal and organisational skills, willingness to learn and exceptional attention to detail.

AGWA are establishing a pool of skilled and experienced Installation Technicians to fill an immediate opportunity and future casual opportunities. This pool will run for a period of 24 months from the initial appointment and applicants deemed suitable may be considered for similar vacancies.
We currently have the following for immediate filling:

* 1x permanent, full time Level 2 Installation Technician

This position is located in central Perth within the Cultural Centre hub close to the bustling café, tourist and shopping districts.

Conditions

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must be an Australian citizen, have permanent resident status in Australia or have a visa that allows you to live and work in Australia for the period of your employment contract.
Successful applicants will be required to complete the below prior to commencement:

* A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants for this position may be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within AGWA and the wider public sector which arise within a reasonable period of time. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process.
