Each morning, the bakery’s skilled team begins work before dawn to prepare an extensive selection of products, including traditional breads, pastries, cakes, and specialty baked items. By using high-quality ingredients, sourced locally wherever possible, the bakery ensures that every product leaving the ovens reflects the high standards that customers have come to expect.

Our client also recognises the importance of catering to a broad range of tastes and dietary preferences. The bakery offers a varied menu that includes gluten-free and vegan options so that customers with different dietary needs can still enjoy fresh baked goods. About the Position

Our client, Balranald Bakery, is seeking to appoint a full-time Baker with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in a similar role and a relevant Certificate III qualification.

Reporting To

This position reports directly to the Director. 38 hrs per week.

The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

* Handle dough through processes like mixing, kneading, allowing it to mature, cutting, molding, and shaping.
* Prepare and bake a diverse range of pastry and bread items by accurately measuring ingredients, assembling products, and managing oven operations from loading through cooling.
* Inspect and approve raw materials and ingredients to maintain strict quality control and food safety standards.
* Enhance the appearance of baked goods with decorative elements like glaze, icing, and toppings.
* Thoroughly clean kitchen equipment and tools before use to ensure that equipment is clean and functional to meet safety standards before each production run.
* Ensure all kitchen tools and production equipment are cleaned, sanitised, and fully operational in compliance with workplace safety regulations.
* Tailor pastries to individual customer preferences.
* Adjust oven temperatures as necessary to ensure proper baking of various pastry items.
* Create a variety of fillings, such as chocolate ganache, caramel sauce, and fruit, for cakes and pies.
* Operate and supervise the use of manual and automated bakery machinery to maximise productivity.
* Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment to minimise downtime and ensure safe operation.
* Contribute to menu development by recommending new recipes and seasonal products to attract customers and increase sales.
* Maintain accurate production logs, stock records, and cost tracking to support profitability and waste control.
* Evaluate baked goods for taste, texture, and appearance through quality control assessments.
* Research, test, and develop original recipes to expand product offerings and respond to market trends.
* Ensure all final tasks comply with HACCP and food handling standards.

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:

* A relevant Certificate III
* A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
* Proficiency in operating various professional kitchen appliances such as mixers, blenders, and dough sheeters
* Comprehensive knowledge of food safety protocols
* Practical experience in cake decorating methods
* Strong aptitude for managing time effectively
* Readiness to collaborate with team members or work independently to address challenges, organize schedules, fulfill orders, and craft exceptional baked goods
* Capability to function in a demanding, high-temperature environment, and perform physical tasks like standing, walking, bending, using tools, and lifting heavy objects for prolonged durations
* Ability to maintain composure and concentration amidst a fast-paced setting
* Demonstrated teamwork and a customer-centric mindset
* Adaptability to early morning shifts
