About the role
As a Traffic Controller with Northern Territory Traffic Control, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient management of traffic flow at various work sites across the Darwin. This is a casual position, offering flexible work arrangements to suit your lifestyle. Based in Darwin, you will be responsible for controlling the movement of vehicles, pedestrians, and machinery, helping to keep our community safe.
We also have positions available for Alice Springs based applicants.
What you'll be doing
1. Implementing and monitoring traffic control plans to manage the flow of traffic at work sites
2. Operating stop/slow bats, traffic signals, and other traffic control equipment to direct vehicles and pedestrians
3. Monitoring and adjusting traffic control measures in response to changing conditions
4. Communicating effectively with drivers, pedestrians, and work crews to ensure everyone's safety
5. Maintaining accurate records and reporting on traffic management activities
6. Adhering to all relevant safety regulations and procedures
What we're looking for
1. Previous experience as a Traffic Controller or in a similar traffic management role
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to give clear instructions to drivers and pedestrians
3. Strong attention to detail and the ability to think critically to identify and respond to changing traffic conditions
4. Certification in Traffic Management or a willingness to obtain one
5. A valid driver's licence and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
6. Available for DIDO work
