This position is responsible for the identification of process improvement and automation initiatives within the business. This role will identify and implement solutions based on business priority and risk management. This role will ensure adherence to Wesfarmers development and security standards and contributes to achieving Wesfarmers strategic business objectives through managing and balancing both a short-term delivery focus as well as achieving longer term objectives.
What You'll Be Doing
Strong experience in mapping current systems, tooling, and workflows across teams to identify inefficiencies, handoffs, and repetitive manual tasks.
Ability to work with stakeholders to uncover friction points and define automation opportunities with clear, measurable impact.
Recommend selected automation of processes or integrations that streamline business processes, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with our broader tech ecosystem.
The ability to track and report back the value of the initiatives on a regular basis
Creation of reusable templates, playbooks, and frameworks to support teams in scaling automation initiatives independently.
Lead enablement sessions and workshops to build internal capability and confidence around AI and automation best practices.
Provide ongoing support post-deployment to ensure long-term success and continuous improvement of solutions.
Measure and report on the performance impact of the initiatives, including cycle time reduction, improved team satisfaction, and increased focus on high-value work in order to prove ROI.
What You'll Bring To The Table
10+ years' experience in technology, digital or data roles, including: 5+ Years of leading automation initiatives
Deep experience in building technological solutions - Complex problem-solving skills, ability to make the complex simple
Ability to commercially evaluate opportunities and driving required outcomes
Ability to lead sustainable solutions which are highly scalable.
The use of coding methodologies and structures to ensure appropriate governance over automations.
Ability to create buy in at Senior Executive Level
Expertise in recommending AI strategies that deliver real business outcomes
Commercially strong, pragmatic, with an ability to understand each divisions individual priorities, challenges and opportunities
Deep knowledge of AI/ML platforms and tools with a strong focus on safe, ethical, and compliant application
Broad proficiency across cloud, digital architecture, and engineering, integrating solutions effectively within the enterprise ecosystem.
