Passenger Transport and Services is looking for a director to lead the Fleet Strategy and Systems Delivery team and provide strategic direction in scheduling, fleet management, and contract oversight.
As a Director (Fleet Strategy & Systems Delivery) you will play a pivotal role in shaping Queensland's passenger transport system. Your responsibilities will include providing strategic direction and leadership in scheduling, fleet management and contract oversight. Your work will drive public transport improvements, enhance the customer experience, and foster a culture of accountability, professionalism and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Team Culture and Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, strong ethical practices, respect, and continuous improvement within the Fleet, BCC Contracts, and Scheduling teams.
- Operational Efficiency: Lead business and financial planning, optimise resource use, and implement service delivery improvements.
- Open Data and Operational Analysis: Support open data initiatives, review datasets and ensure compliance with legislation and guidelines.
- Scheduling and Compliance: Oversee scheduling operations using HASTUS, ensuring compliance with policies, contracts, and industrial agreements.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Strategic Support: Manage partnerships, provide strategic advice, and represent the department in working groups.
- Network Scheduling Improvements: Identify scheduling enhancements. Analyse operator cost models and recommend solutions to improve business efficiency and achieve operational savings.
- Fleet Management: oversee the Network Services & Operations fleet asset ownership model to deliver protected and effective fleet across the state.
Mandatory Requirement
- A criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
Ideal Candidate
- Demonstrates team leadership in leading operational frontline service teams.
- Have experience in public transport operations and fleet management.
