We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Boilermaker / Welder to join a busy and well-established fabrication workshop. This role combines precision welding, structural fabrication, and assembly work, offering variety and the opportunity to work on diverse engineering projects from raw materials through to completed assemblies. This position will suit a tradesperson who takes pride in workmanship, works well within a collaborative team environment, and maintains high safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Fabrication & Welding Operations Prepare materials for welding including cutting, grinding, cleaning, bevelling, and pre-heating Set up welding machines and configure jigs, clamps, fixtures, and rotators Perform welding of assemblies and individual components Process sectional steel and plate materials for fabrication Form, bend, drill, tap, and bevel plate materials Fit fabricated and machined components into final assemblies Work directly with in-house machinists on integrated projects Operate mono beam cranes, overhead lifting equipment, and forklifts (1.5–5.0 tonne) Welding Processes MIG welding (Solid wire & Fluxcore) TIG welding (Aluminium & Stainless Steel) MMA / Arc welding Gouging operations Use of oxy-acetylene equipment and LPG preheating torches Quality & Compliance Interpret and work accurately from detailed engineering drawings Conduct visual inspections of welds Ensure welded joints meet industry codes and specifications Verify welding procedures and maintain quality documentation Workflow & Safety Plan and organise daily tasks to meet production deadlines Coordinate with production planning teams to achieve delivery schedules Maintain a clean and organised work environment Properly maintain welding equipment and machinery Follow strict safety procedures and contribute to a proactive safety culture Participate in continuous improvement initiatives Skills & Experience Required Trade-qualified Boilermaker / Fabricator or Welder Demonstrated experience across multiple welding processes (MIG, TIG, MMA) Strong ability to read and interpret detailed fabrication drawings Experience working with structural steel and plate fabrication Confident operating cranes and lifting equipment High attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship Strong team player with a professional work ethic What’s on Offer Stable, full-time position Diverse and technically engaging fabrication work Supportive workshop environment Opportunity to work on high-quality engineered projects An annual salary range offer $80,000 to $85,000 superannuation comensurate on candidate's experience How to Apply If you think you have the above qualities, are looking for a new challenge, and believe you have what it takes to drive a team to succeed consistently, please forward your resume, along with a cover letter, by clicking on the apply button below.
