The Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Financial Controller to lead the finance function across our Group and support the continued growth of our maritime logistics operations. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong governance, and high-quality insights that enable confident decision-making across the business. You will oversee all accounting, compliance, and financial planning activities while providing strategic and commercial support to senior leadership. You will drive improvements across systems and processes, foster a high-performing finance team, and maintain strong visibility across our multi-site operations. Position Objective & Key Responsibilities
* Deliver accurate monthly and annual financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Oversee all accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, and financial controls.
* Ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and manage external audits.
* Provide commercial finance support for pricing, contracts, business cases, and investment decisions.
* Maintain cash flow forecasts, working capital oversight, and strong banking relationships.
* Drive process improvement, system optimisation, and adoption of emerging technologies.
* Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
* Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships and maintain visibility across all site locations.
About You
You will thrive in this role if you bring:
* Strong experience preparing and interpreting management reports, budgets, forecasts, and board-level insights.
* Demonstrated leadership capability, with experience coaching and developing finance teams.
* Expertise across AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, compliance, and multi-entity operations.
* Excellent stakeholder communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly.
* Strong initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.

Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
* CPA or CA qualified (or eligible).
* Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, tax obligations, and statutory reporting.
* Proficiency in financial systems and online banking platforms.
