The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is looking to fill the position of Senior Dynamics Solution Designer (APS6) or Senior Dynamics Architect (EL1) in the Data Integration section. This is permanent position at the APS 6 or Executive Level 1 classification level. A technical specialist role requires extensive understanding, engagement and delivery experience within the specialist area to work as part of the technical team and closely with the business areas. Your role will be a good balance between leadership, application development and application integration. The team aims to reduce administrative burden for managing Data Integration systems, so we build applications and processes to enable that. While we deliver new functionality within the Dynamics applications, we also consider how best to do so sustainably to support Security, Architecture and Collaboration considerations which often extend beyond the applications in use. We have some exciting work coming up which provides opportunities to show your architectural expertise. Examples include, using myDATA as an authorisation service to other Data Integration applications, using okta as a third party identity provider to our Portal, providing bespoke Azure Function Apps to deliver customised Table exports, configuring D365 Queues for use with M365 Mailboxes, architecting solutions for how to provide information to and from Dataverse with other applications within different tenants, how to support and maintain plug-ins. Because the data we maintain in the system contains personally identifiable information (PII), security and privacy considerations are highly important, and solutions must be developed with security in mind, particularly and integrations with other systems. The key duties of the position include To be suitable you should have most or all of the following skills, qualities and experience: Senior Dynamics Solution Designer (APS6): at least two years of Dynamics development experience including PowerApps design, Power Pages (Portal) development and Power Automate development supporting end to end architecture experience in Javascript development for Power Pages (Portal) experience in accepting complex business requirements and be able to advise clients on best approaches and when to/not to apply customisation demonstrated ability to work productively in a team comprised of technical peers and business representatives whilst providing regular support and guidance to the project team on coding, issue resolution and execution ability to lead technical design discussions for EPIC style features. Senior Dynamics Architect (EL1): at least three years of Dynamics development experience including PowerApps design, Power Pages (Portal) development and Power Automate development supporting end to end architecture, with a focus on strategic alignment with business experience in Javascript across a range of platforms, including development for Power Pages (Portal) demonstrated ability to lead a productive team of Dynamics developers while providing leadership, best practice, support and guidance deep understanding and application of architecture and security patterns while designing solutions - for example, data management scenarios which extend beyond Dataverse, or authentication and authorisation scenarios which extend beyond local authentication within Portal comprehensive experience of Power Platform integrations. Desirable skills for both levels include: experience in refactoring solutions for simplification when new requirements arise experience with Azure Entra Groups, App Registrations, Certificates, Function Apps, Application Insights and Storage accounts to support Portal activities experience with third-party identity provider (e.g. Okta) integration with Portal portal plugin experience experience in understanding how to securely read to and from Dataverse both within the application and portal via Web API and Portal API, but also with other applications. The role will be offered at either the APS6 or EL1 level depending on the successful candidate's skills and experience. Web application skills and experience will be considered to complement Dynamics experience.
