The Position:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Medicine Physician/Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities and duties include:
1. Working across 7 days, 38 hours (4 shifts per week)
2. Physicians/Consultants work in the department between Morning to Midnight, with Senior Registrars/medical practitioners working overnight with Consultants available on call
3. Experience a wide variety of cases from neonates to geriatric, inclusive of trauma, resuscitation and toxicology
The Facility:
We operate as the primary regional healthcare facility in the area, boasting over 200 beds and serving as a specialised referral centre for northern Victoria. We cater to a population of around 90,000 and manage nearly 19,000 inpatient cases and 23,000 visits to the Emergency Department annually. Our facility delivers an extensive array of acute specialist medical and surgical services, encompassing an emergency department, a critical care unit, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, and specialised aged care. Additionally, we provide community rehabilitation, inpatient care, community services, aged care, and psycho-geriatric mental health services.

Requirements:
1. Fellowship (FACEM) or eligible for fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM)
2. IMG's eligible via the Competent Authority Pathway (training in the UK, USA, NZ, Canada or Ireland)
3. IMG's assessed by ACEM College as Substantially comparable (doctors currently interviewing with ACEM may express their interest)
4. Doctors that will be awarded the fellowship (FACEM) in the next 6 months are encouraged to apply
