As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our electrical distribution power system.
Your primary focus will be on testing, commissioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting secondary protection relays, control systems, and primary network equipment as well as high voltage underground cables and distribution field ground and pole top devices.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Performing diagnostic testing and maintenance services on a wide variety of electrical protection and control relays and equipment.
* Analysing and troubleshooting protection system faults and malfunctions to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
* Conducting repairs & maintenance on field distribution ground and pole top devices.
* Participating in the commissioning of new protection and control equipment, ensuring that it meets design specifications and regulatory requirements.
* Verifying the integration of protection devices with overall power system infrastructure.
* Generating detailed reports documenting the performance of protection and control systems.
* Coordinating testing activities with internal and external stakeholders.
* Preparing work records and reports as required, including input into databases and work hours/daily work records.
* Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations related to protection and control systems.
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess an Advanced Diploma of ESI – Power Systems or an equivalent qualification.
You will also require strong technical knowledge and experience working across power systems related secondary, primary, and distribution equipment.
Familiarity with relay testing equipment such as power system simulators, as well as primary test equipment, is essential.
In addition, you will need to have effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
