About you
This is a fast‑paced and detail‑oriented role that will require you to prioritise your own work to meet and exceed internal and external deadlines and targets, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and standard of excellence.
You are a team player and problem‑solver with the ability to communicate effectively to all stakeholders. With your foundational knowledge and skills, and a strong client focus, you will ensure our service is tailored to meet our different client's needs.
You will also possess the following:
* Police clearance
* Tertiary qualifications in accounting / accounting‑related degree in business / commerce or similar
* Basic knowledge of Auditing and Accounting Standards, Income Tax, GST and relevant Acts of legislation (desirable)
* Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook (essential)
* Background/association with and/or a passion for agriculture (desirable)
Your role
Graduate Accountants will assist our team. We are seeking expressions of interest from candidates who have:
* Preparing income tax returns in accordance with all legal, regulatory, accounting and taxation standards
* Effectively processing source documentation to produce a trial balance
* Identifying and referring issues up the line in a timely manner
Preparing BAS, FBT returns and other regulatory requirements as directed
* Preparing draft financial statements in accordance with all current legal, regulatory, accounting and financial reporting standards as directed
* Self‑reviewing all work; checking all calculations and cross references work papers as instructed
* Assisting in the preparation of management
Core knowledge & technical skills
* The ability to apply knowledge of accounting standards and principles.
* The ability to use the Microsoft suite of applications and awareness of accounting packages
* A keen interest in developing your accounting and business advisory skills
* Accounting or finance student (major in accounting)
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Flexibility, adaptability, and a strong work ethic
* The ability to work both independently and be a strong team player
* A well‑organised, methodical, and committed approach to delivering work in a timely and accurate manner
* Strong attention to detail
* Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
* The ability to multi‑task/prioritise and manage time effectively and efficiently
