About The Role
The Group Accountant plays a key role within the Corporate Services division, supporting the financial operations of the group across multiple entities. Working closely with the Finance Manager, this role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance obligations, and driving continuous improvement across accounting processes.
Key responsibilities
* Financial Reporting & Month End Processes
* Payroll & Compliance
* Accounts Receivable, Payable & Reconciliations
* Asset Management
* Budgeting & Forecasting
* Assist with submission of Director and Staff expense claims and credit card reconciliations
* Manage and prepare disbursements of costs for the practice
* Prepare and lodge monthly payroll tax reporting
* Management of staff timesheets
* Maintenance of Asset Register
* Assist with the preparation of BAS
* Streamline processes and improve efficiencies
* Provide ad hoc financial support and analysis as required by the business
What we are looking for
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
* CA or CPA qualified (or working towards qualification)
* 2–3 years of experience in a similar accounting role
* Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a confident professional manner
* Effective time management and the ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines
* Analytical and problem-solving mindset
* Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
* Professional and positive approach to work, with a client service focus
* Experience with Xero and FYI
* Advanced Excel skills
* Prior experience in a professional services or legal/accounting firm environment highly regarded
