Woodston Personnel are seeking an experienced and accomplished Consultant in Infection Prevention and Control to join a prestigious hospital in Saudi Arabia. The Consultant provides expert leadership, clinical guidance, and strategic direction to reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and improve patient and staff safety. The role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring evidence-based infection prevention policies, conducting surveillance, leading outbreak investigations, and supporting compliance with national and international standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Serve as the subject-matter expert on infection prevention and control for clinical and non-clinical teams.
* Provide expert consultation on infection risks, transmission prevention, and management of infectious cases.
* Lead and support outbreak investigations, root cause analyses, and response activities.
* Advise on appropriate isolation precautions, antimicrobial stewardship practices, and environmental hygiene standards.
* Develop, review, and update IPC policies, protocols, and guidelines in line with evidence-based practices and regulatory requirements.
* Lead IPC planning for emergency preparedness, including emerging pathogens and pandemic response.
* Guide facility design and renovation planning to ensure infection-control compliance.
* Oversee infection surveillance systems to identify trends, transmission risks, and improvement opportunities.
* Analyze and interpret infection-related data, providing regular reports to senior leadership and clinical teams.
* Monitor compliance with hand hygiene, PPE use, environmental cleaning, and sterilization standards.
* Provide ongoing education and competency-based training to healthcare workers, students, and support staff.
* Deliver targeted training during outbreaks or when new risks or procedures arise.
* Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Collaborate with departments such as microbiology, occupational health, quality and safety, facilities management, and public health authorities.
* Communicate effectively with senior leadership on IPC risks, priorities, and performance indicators.
* Represent the organization in external committees, audits, and accreditation activities.

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
US Board/ FRCS - Irish, UK, Canadian, New Zealand or Australian/ Diploma d'Etudes Specialises (DES)/ CIS French Board/ Fachart & Sub- Board/ Fellowship / Board / Fellowship / Sweden / Belgium / Finland / Spain
Must have at least 3-5 years of post-consultant or senior specialist experience
Eligible for consultant licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)
