About The Role
The team at East Kimberley Regional Youth Justice services the towns of Kununurra, Wyndham, Halls Creek, Warmun, Balgo and Kalumburu. The region takes in some of the most picturesque places in outback Australia. As a team leader, you are responsible for the supervision of staff, exhibiting positive and strong leadership to the whole team, to achieve our goals in ensuring we work positively with young people and their families involved in the Justice system. There is travel requirements that come with the position.
Our work involves using research led counselling and intervention techniques to affect positive behaviour changes in young people. The position is based in Kununurra, and you will work in a close-knit team with all members of the team focussed on working with young people and their families to achieve positive results.
Some Of The Responsibilities Of The Role Include
* Applying the principles of the Young Offenders Act in the work we do with young people in the justice system.
* Oversee the daily operations of the Centre and case coordination of young people on community-based orders
* Ensuring the submission of timely court reports
* Coaching, training, and mentoring of team members
Eligibility
Permanent positions
– To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
WWC positions
– In accordance with the National Child Safety Principles, people who work directly with children and young people, you must have a current Working with Children Check or be able to successfully apply for one to be eligible for appointment to this position.
