About The Role
The Director of Clinical Services (DCS) has overall responsibility and is accountable for the planning, coordination, management, monitoring, evaluation and improvement of clinical services in acute (includes Urgent Care), residential aged care, perioperative and ambulatory care (includes cancer services and renal dialysis).
The DCS will be a key leader in maintaining relevant accreditations which will have the support of a Deputy DON who has responsibilities of Quality, Education and Risk.
The DCS is a member of the Kyabram District Health Service executive team and participates in strategic and operational planning for the health service. The DCS leads the clinical service planning and in collaboration with the Director of Medical Services is responsible for the operational management of the clinical objectives of the plan.
As the leader of the Clinical Services Division, the appointee will contribute to the overall performance of the team consistent with Kyabram District Health Services' Vision and Values.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Clinical Services will provide leadership for the Acute (18 beds), UCC (4 bays), Residential Aged Care (42 Beds), Ambulatory Care (including Oncology and Renal Dialysis), Perioperative Services, and Quality/Education and Risk departments. The DCS professional nursing responsibilities also include nursing staff employed in Community Services and Primary Health departments.
You will work in partnership with a vibrant Executive Team, participating in strategic and operational planning for the health service, delivering on operational outcomes in service delivery and their functions. The role takes Executive leadership for the Board Clinical Governance committee and also will be a key engager of the Victorian Health system reform with the focus on KDHS membership of the Hume Local Health Service Network.
About You
To be successful, you will have the passion to work collaboratively with a broad array of internal and external stakeholders; be committed to developing staff and enhancing teams to achieve high performance and be confident in motivating staff and leading them successfully through organisational change.
You will be an AHPRA registered nurse with post graduate qualification/s in health, management or a related discipline and extensive experience in health and aged care. You will be able to demonstrate your knowledge of and experience in maximising operational performance to achieve strategic goals.

All appointments are made subject to satisfactory police check and Victorian 'Employee' Working with Children's Check. Completion of a Commonwealth of Australia Statutory Declaration is required prior to commencement.
