With your skills and experience, you can contribute to the millions of ways we're enriching health, and develop your career as part of the largest health organisation in Australia.

Achieve Something Great
As Co-Director of the Public Health Unit, you will provide professional leadership across all strategic and operational aspects of the service, working in close partnership with the Clinical Co-Director to proactively address public health issues. You will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence‐informed public health policies, plans, and innovative programs that maximise population health outcomes and reduce health inequalities across SWSLHD. This role is central to integrating public health strategies into the core business of the District, coordinating multidisciplinary approaches across care settings, and delivering outcomes that meet state-wide priorities within defined timeframes and budgets.

Are You the Right Fit?
You are a strategic, values‐driven leader with a strong passion for public health and demonstrated experience managing complex operations, including finance, performance reporting, corporate risk, and human resource management. You bring the credibility to provide high‐level advice to Local Health Districts and the NSW Ministry of Health, and the capability to monitor performance, evaluate risk, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. With outstanding leadership and communication skills, you excel at building and sustaining effective partnerships with internal teams, government and non‐government agencies, private industry, and local communities, and thrive in collaborative executive environments where strong leadership delivers measurable public health impact.

* Demonstrated current understanding of public health and related issues, and experience in delivery of public health programs in an operational context.
* Demonstrated high level knowledge and experience in strategic planning, program design and implementation of population health/public health programs including research, evaluation, quality improvement and evidence informed management of complex health issues within a large and complex organisation.
* Demonstrated effectiveness in establishing and maintaining collaborative partnerships to achieve health goals (i.e. senior executive staff, other government agencies, non-government agencies, the media and the community).
* Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
