Dubbo Regional Council serves 55,000 residents and 1.65 million visitors each year. As a Fitter within the Water and Sewer branch, you will help maintain mechanical water and sewerage assets, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient services while contributing to a supportive team environment. Your work will focus on troubleshooting and diagnosing plant maintenance issues, and your contributions will be vital to the sustainable future of the Dubbo region.
Responsibilities
Provide technical input in a relevant mechanical field.
Provide mechanical data for asset management purposes.
Deliver cost-efficient services for refurbishment, repair and maintenance of water supply and sewerage assets as per Council plans and specifications.
Test and commission new installation of mechanical equipment.
Assist in the preparation of maintenance or new works contracts for Mechanical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic works.
Assist in updates of the asset database for all maintenance, replacement and refurbishment of water and sewer mechanical and electrical equipment.
What You'll Bring
Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting and Machining.
Demonstrated work experience in the trade, including machining and troubleshooting/diagnosis for plant maintenance.
Basic computer skills.
MR Driver's licence.
We Would Also Love You To Have
Completed training in fluoride operations.
Chlorine gas-handling qualifications.
MR (Medium Rigid) driver licence.
Benefits
Annual salary range: $78,691 – $91,453, inclusive of market allowance.
38-hour work week, 9-day fortnight, and generous leave allowances.
