About the Role
We have a position available for Skipper/Diver to operate on one of Cairns Marine's fleet of 20-22m West Coasters commercial vessels and to dive for aquarium fish and corals. The skipper must be an experienced diver.
Short regular trips of 5 to 7 days allow you to maintain a regular land-based lifestyle. Rotating roster.
Excellent daily rates are on offer based on skills and experience.
This position is CAIRNS-based with trips to Coral Sea and Mackay, full training will be provided.
Skills and Experience as Skipper
* Must hold Master45m NC
* Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
* Safe operation of a vessel, the safety of the crew, and animal husbandry.
* Ensure all underwater operations are carried out safely and effectively.
* Induction & training of new crew.
* Sound working knowledge of the marine related OH&S legislation.
Mandatory Requirements for Diver component
* Certified Rescue Diver certificate – Minimum or equivalent occupational Diver Cert
* Commercial Dive medical - Current
* First Aid/CPR certificate – Current (HLTAID011 & HLTAID009)
* Oxygen Resuscitation certificate – Current (HLTAID015)
* Elements of Shipboard Safety (ESS), or ability to obtain
* A relevant Radio Operators Certificate - LROCP as a minimum (MROCP accepted)
* Recreational Marine Drivers Licence (RMDL), or ability to obtain
* Master V and MED 2 - for Skippers position
