Community Relationship Officer
* Fixed Term (Until 2 August 2027) / Full Time
* Monday to Friday, 72.5 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight
* $94,173 – $100,171 per annum (LGIA Stream A Level 4) + Superannuation

Overview
Are you passionate about strengthening communities and creating meaningful connections? As our Community Relationship Officer, you will play a key role in delivering impactful community engagement initiatives across the Rockhampton Region. You will work closely with community groups, not-for-profit organisations, Traditional Land Owners and key stakeholders to identify needs, build partnerships, and support initiatives that enhance community wellbeing and social outcomes.
In this dynamic role, you will act as a central link between Council and the community—facilitating collaboration, supporting volunteer engagement, and contributing to projects and events that bring people together. You will also monitor emerging community trends and provide insights to inform Council strategies, helping to build a connected, inclusive and resilient region aligned with Council's Corporate Plan.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check – Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
* Highly developed interpersonal skills, a natural facilitator and strong networking skills
* Experience and knowledge of volunteer framework and non‐for‐profit organisations
* A collaborative approach to ensure continuous improvement and positive outcomes for Council and the community
* Developed understanding of First Nations‐appropriate practices, cultural awareness and terminology
* Ambition to ensure that all outcomes and targets are met with optimum efficiency and effectiveness
* Tertiary qualifications relevant to the position (preferably Community Engagement related) and experience in stakeholder engagement role.
* Demonstrated ability to plan workload, achieve set goals, undertake and deliver short‐term projects and project‐based tasks.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain partnerships and relationships with all stakeholders.
